| Opening of the Photo Exhibition "Faces of the World" | | Ljubljana, Slovenia, 15. november 2007 |  In the atrium of the Town Hall, Benka Pulko exhibited an impressive and outstanding collection of photographs entitled Faces of the World. With this exhibition she symbolically concluded her unrivaled 10th year of around the world projects. The exhibition was opened by Ljubljana’s mayor Zoran Janković, who released 120 helium balloons, each containing a positive message encouraging people to participate in the humanitarian project 'The World in the Palm of Your Hand'.
Benka donated her photographs for an auction to raise money for philanthropic projects. With the funds collected, her foundation "Believe in Yourself & Kickstart the World" will purchase computer equipment for Slovenian elementary schools. Some of the notables taking Benka’s photographs home were the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Danilo Türk; mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković; former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zoran Thaler; Si.Mobil general manager, Dejan Turk; general manager of Radio Hit, Stane Cencelj; and representatives of Merkur Insurance Company and Strle Svetila, among others.
The photographer will travel around the world again, this time, taking the photos with her. Planned stops for the exhibition include Brussels, Zagreb, Belgrade, New York, Tokyo and Johannesburg. |
